Jane Newman

Jane joined Social Finance in 2012 to lead our international market building work.  She is a specialist in outcomes-based finance and has supported a wide range of public, private and non-profit stakeholders in different countries as they seek to develop their local or national social investment markets.  Jane also led our work to establish the Social Finance Global Network. At a project level, Jane’s work has included a focus on innovative finance in the humanitarian and refugee sector, including our work to design and launch a refugee integration outcomes fund in the UK, and advising international NGOs on the application of innovative finance models in the humanitarian sector. Prior to Social Finance, Jane was a director at The Social Investment Business, then the UK’s largest social investor, and before, was a corporate partner in an international law firm where she spent time in the UK, as well as leading the Germany and China offices.  She has held former roles as board member of Impact Europe and as the UK’s private sector expert committee member on the EU’s social business initiative.  Jane is a qualified lawyer, and a graduate of Birmingham and Oxford Universities.
