Haruka Nagao Nagase

Haruka Nagao founded ViVarsity (NPO) in 2010 and link design lab in 2018 to support immigrants in Japan and promote multicultural understanding. Based in Okazaki, near Toyota City, her organization assists foreign residents who settle long-term. It organizes life-skills seminars, after-school programs, and online multicultural courses to foster connection and inclusion. It also provides consultation and technical support for businesses hiring immigrants. In 2018, ViVarsity received the Children, Families, and Youth Support Award from Japan’s Cabinet Office.
