Ms. Ayaka Komatsu

Program Coordinator

Ms. Ayaka Komatsu joined the United States-Japan Foundation in 2026 as Program Coordinator for the US-Japan Leadership Program. Her work spans communications, logistics, and program support for the program’s flagship conferences and initiatives.

Ms. Komatsu grew up in Houston, Texas, and graduated from Sophia University in September 2025 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology/Sociology and a minor in Political Science.

During her time there, she served for three years as president of the Sophia Refugee Support Group and was a Teaching Assistant for the Refugee Digital Oral Narratives class. She continues to serve as the current Project Manager of Refugee Voices Japan, a student-led research initiative that documents and shares the personal narratives of refugees living in Japan.
