USJF to Move Grant Application Submissions to Online Form Beginning Q4 Cycle

The United States-Japan Foundation (USJF) will transition its grant application process from email submission to an online form, effective with the Q4 grant cycle. The change follows the close of the Q3 cycle's application window on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 11:59 PM Eastern Daylight Time / Saturday, August 22, 12:59 PM Japan Standard Time.

Under the current process, applicants draft a three- to four-page Letter of Inquiry (LOI) outlining their project's goals and its relevance to strengthening U.S.-Japan relations or addressing a shared challenge facing both nations. Applicants then submit the LOI together with a completed cover sheet as PDF attachments to programs@us-jf.org.

Beginning with the Q4 cycle, applicants will instead complete a designated LOI form directly on USJF's Grants page. The form will replace the current cover sheet, consolidating the application materials into a single online submission. Further details on the new form will be made available on the Grants page ahead of the Q4 cycle.

This update follows USJF's recent revision of its 2026 Q3 and Q4 grant submission deadlines.
